On June 21st, the eyes of the world will turn to Gothenburg, as the world’s toughest sailing competition draws to a close. Because what is true of Volvo Ocean Race – that it demands an efficient use of resources while respecting the forces of nature – is true of the vision nurtured by the City of Gothenburg.

Climate change is by far one of the hottest topics in the world right now. And the City of Gothenburg has come a long way in reducing its environmental footprint.

So while the eyes of the world are riveted on the city at the time of the Volvo Ocean Race finals, we turn the city into an epicentre of green thinking with a focus on sustainable urban development and energy-efficient mobility in and around the city.
