Diesel exhausts contain pollutants. A technique for dealing with one of them, the dangerous Nitrogen Oxide NOx is by using pee (Urea) as the reductant agent! This method, known as Ammonia Selective Catalytic Reduction, also employs a catalytic material to get more efficient NOx reduction. The search for the best catalytic materials has been the main focus of this research for several decades.
